We are excited to welcome two new people to the EDCUtah team. Sara Adelman joins us as EDCUtah’s senior manager of strategic marketing. Sara brings more than 10 years of experience in marketing and communications across the nonprofit, government, and IT sectors. Most recently, she led the content marketing strategy at Cityworks, a Trimble Company, which designs GIS-centric infrastructure management solutions for local government and utility organizations. Sara will take over duties performed by Michael O’Malley, who is retiring from economic development as of July 1.
Gerritt Vander Linden also joins EDCUtah for an internship supporting the executive team and the Center for Economic Opportunity & Belonging. Gerritt is studying economics and political science at the University of Utah. Before university, he spent two years in Taiwan, learning Chinese and serving the people there. Prior to his time at EDCUtah, he spent a semester as a writing and research intern at the World Trade Association of Utah. In his free time, Gerritt enjoys spending time with his wife, cooking, and going to Jazz and Ute games.
Matt Hilburn, vice president of research and marketing, is departing EDCUtah to launch a new research and analytics consulting business. Matt is a statistician and researcher by trade, and his leadership of the EDCUtah research and marketing team since 2015 has helped elevate Utah as a nationally recognized business and lifestyle destination. Matt’s last day with EDCUtah was April 8.
Matt’s business will focus primarily on consumer marketing research with a specialty in advanced analytics techniques.
“Matt’s expertise and passion for data analysis deepened EDCUtah’s research competency and solidified Utah’s reputation among the national business community,” said Theresa A. Foxley, president and CEO. “We congratulate Matt on this exciting next step in his career and look forward to being his first client. We are excited to have a continuing relationship with him.”
