Greta Hepworth joined EDCUtah this month as the new events manager, a key role that supports EDCUtah’s investor events, trade shows, and partner activities. Greta comes to the team with professional experience ranging from events to producing photo shoots. Originally from California, she’s been in Utah for six years and has enjoyed its many natural beauties and being close to family. Greta will take over event responsibilities performed by Elizabeth Johnson, who is moving on to a new opportunity at the American Water Works Association.
Since 2017, Elizabeth helped EDCUtah create top-notch investor experiences and run large-scale marketing initiatives. Elizabeth seamlessly executed EDCUtah events and contributed to the success of several high-profile partner events. For example, she worked on the Salt Lake City Host Committee for the 2019 Site Selectors Guild’s Annual Conference along with Go Utah, Rocky Mountain Power, Salt Lake City, and 16 sponsor organizations to host 51 of the industry’s leading site selectors. The event was a major success, showcasing Utah’s many unique offerings. Elizabeth’s last day at EDCUtah was June 14.
In related staffing news, Michael O’Malley, who has served as EDCUtah’s marketing director since January 2019, is transitioning to a contractor role. While he won’t be a day-to-day presence here, he will undertake limited writing assignments, special projects, and support for in-state and out-of-state events and initiatives as needed. “This is not a retirement, just a dialing back,” said O’Malley, who can also be found leading ski and hiking tours at Deer Valley and sharing Park City history on Fox School of Wine “Mines & Wines” tours. “I look forward to continued interaction with EDCUtah investors.”
