Americold, a global provider for temperature-controlled infrastructure and supply chain solutions, began exploring the possibility of expansion in the summer of 2016. The company has locations in both Salt Lake City and Clearfield, and considered options in Utah, the Pacific Northwest and regions of California. Utah was ultimately chosen for this western region expansion.
At the end of July, EDCUtah and GOED met with the company to discuss the possibility of Americold expanding its current facility in Clearfield. JJ Allen and Adam Lenhard with Clearfield City worked closely with Americold to help resolve roadblocks and ultimately win the project. Americold’s goal is to be the global provider of choice for refrigeration storage and they strive to foster innovation and provide the best opportunities for their employees.
Americold’s expansion will create 51 jobs, 200,000 square feet of new construction and 29 million in capital investment for the state.
