COVID-19 Economic Roundup for the Week of June 22

DWS is holding a virtual job fair statewide on June 30 for 10 am to 1 pm. Job seekers can sign up at jobs.utah.gov while prospective employers can register for a “booth” by contacting a DWS representative.

Business Insider ranked which cities could be the best to live in after the coronavirus pandemic for those Americans seeking a new home and planning to continue remote work. To do this, they used nine economic, educational, and demographic metrics from government data sources and academic research. Logan, UT made #15 on the list. 

 

In the most recent special session, the Utah Legislature approved several key initiatives to help reactivate the state’s economy as part of H.B. 5010. The Governor’s Office of Economic Development is overseeing many of these. Read the initiative overview here.
