Facebook Supports Utah County COVID-19 Relief Efforts

News from a recent EDCUtah project – Facebook’s COVID relief efforts in Utah County include:

$582,000 to the Alpine School District, to ensure students in greatest need have laptops to learn from home, as well as iPads for special needs students, and video equipment for teachers to record lessons. This was announced May 4.

$200,000 in small business grants for the Eagle Mountain area, including those who are sole proprietors. The Eagle Mountain Chamber of Commerce plans to issue grants this week.

$100,000 in small business grants earmarked for all of Utah County, which is part of the company’s global $100 million SMB grant program.

$125,000 in donations to local non-profits to be announced this week.

Individual Facebook (as well as Mortenson Construction employees working on the Eagle Mountain data center) have also stepped up – donating time and thousands of dollars to local charities, restaurants and hospitals. This includes the purchase of food from local restaurants, then donating that food to hospitals.
