1987 - Utah Economic Development Corporation Launched (2 of 30)
To celebrate EDCUtah's 30th anniversary, the 30 Years, 30 Highlights series details major milestones in Utah's economic development.
After the Committee of 100’s first year, the organization attracted approximately 64 public and private sector members, which was sufficient to create the most unified marketing message the state had produced to date. It promoted Utah as an attractive and profitable place to do business.
By 1987, the Committee of 100 had coalesced enough statewide support to launch the Utah Economic Development Corporation (UEDC), precursor to today's EDCUtah.
