Event Review - Outdoor Retailer Summer Market
Global Strategy and Outreach, EDCUtah’s proactive outreach team, executed a recruitment campaign focused on the Outdoor Retailer's Summer Market trade show. This marks the first time that Global Strategy and Outreach has attempted to recruit companies attending the trade show, and given the success that was had it will not be the last.
For this campaign, we invited a group of companies exhibiting at the show to a luncheon held at the EDCUtah offices. The objective was to educate them about what makes Utah’s outdoor products, and outdoor recreation industries, so successful. Tom Adams (Director of the Office of Outdoor Recreation, GOED) and Colby Cooley (Business Development Manager, Outdoor Products, EDCUtah) gave a short presentation to those in attendance. Additionally, attendees heard firsthand from Erik Snyder (CEO, Armada Skis) and Nazz Kurth (President, Petzl America) about their relocations to Utah.
For companies that couldn’t attend the lunch meeting, but that were still interested in learning about why Utah is the nations’ premier Outdoor Products destination, in-booth visits were scheduled where we could share our message. Of the 17 connections that were made as part of the campaign, we generated one new project and reinvigorated relationships with two existing projects.
