Max Backlund

Director, Public Development
As Director of Public Development, Max designs and deploys marketing tools and research resources to serve EDCUtah’s public sector members as they develop their economic development strategies. Previously, he worked for Salt Lake County’s Intergovernmental Relations and Economic Development departments. Max graduated from the University of Utah’s S.J. Quinney School of Law in 2014, simultaneously earning a master’s degree in City and Metropolitan Planning. When he’s not working, Max enjoys golf, baseball, reading, and new restaurants. A born and bred Utahn, he never strays far from the mountains.
