1995 - Export Assistance Program Launched (9 of 30)
To celebrate EDCUtah's 30th anniversary, the 30 Years, 30 Highlights series details major milestones in Utah's economic development.
EDCUtah in partnership with the Salt Lake County Commission introduced the Export Assistance Program. Designed for local businesses looking to enter the international market, the program offered grants and training to support the international efforts of the local business community. In order to be eligible for this program the business had to be in the initial stages of exporting or expanding into international markets. In keeping with the international focus, EDCUtah established new trade contacts in Argentina, Brazil, Canada, and Chile.
Local businesses now look to the World Trade Center Utah (WTCUtah) for help expanding into international markets. WTCUtah offers a variety of services, including training, trade missions, trade services, and international business assessments among others. They also offer STEP and Export Acceleration grants to support the international efforts of the Utah business community.
