To celebrate EDCUtah's 30th anniversary, the 30 Years, 30 Highlights series details major milestones in Utah's economic development.
On May 2, 1989, a five-year campaign called Target ’94 was created. The campaign aimed to create 44,000 jobs in Utah through corporate relocation and expansion efforts.
Through Target ’94, the Utah Economic Development Corporation (UEDC), precursor to today's EDCUtah, solidified itself as the catalyst for economic growth through expansion of existing companies and relocation of outside companies to Utah.
